Get an OPL Virtual Library Card for Summer Reading, Music, eBooks and more....

The Ottawa Catholic School Board and the Ottawa Public Library have entered into a partnership permitting students to register for an online virtual library card that will give students access to e-resources and more, 24/7 from school and from home.  The OCSB is the pilot for this OPL program.

It includes access to all OPL’s  eContent such as:

·         Download eBooks through Overdrive and Archambault
·         Search online databases, articles and encyclopedias for research and homework help
·         Download music and videos through Freegal  (3/week)
·         Stream music through Naxos
·         Download magazines through Zinio
·         Register for programs ranging from book clubs to gaming sessions,  and various workshops

1. Log on to: www.BiblioOttawaLibrary.ca/en/OCSB

2. For the student number, be sure to enter a small “s”.

3. For the email address, be sure to enter @ocsbstudent.ca

4. Select the branch of the O.P.L. closest to your home! (Ruth E. Dickinson)

5. You will receive two confirmation emails:

a) The first one is the same one that is sent to regular customers who complete the form.
b) Note: access to the eContent will only be activated when you receive the second
generic OPL online registration form. This email will include a temporary card
number and PIN. When you first sign in to the OPL’s website with your temporary
card number and PIN, you will be prompted to create a new username and PIN.
c) Within a few hours, students will get another email letting them know that their
OCSB account has been authorised and that they have access to all our eContent
and online services.
